This class has allowed me to reflect more on my relationship with technology and evaluate if it is healthy or not. Technology is something that I am grateful for in life but I'm thankful to enjoy spending more time with people in person and exploring this beautiful world. The main technological device that occupies majority of my time is my computer. It is a necessity for my future that I stay on top of my responsibilities for each course that I’m taking at the time. Other than that, when it comes to my use of technology It’s very slim. I honestly watch tv more than spending time on social media. I am a believer that doing research strengthens your knowledge and fosters more critical thinking and better analytical skills. Artificial intelligence (AI) has taken the world by storm with skills such as speaking, hearing, reading, writing, vision and more. Becoming very present in our everyday life, the video “In the Age of AI” is a huge eyeopener. I strongly encourage anyone who wants to have a better understanding to watch this video.  There were three things that I found intriguing while watching the video that were surprisingly positive and one being frightening. Firstly, something as simple as a complexed board game called "Go" was the start to the mind blowing skills of AI in the society that we live in. Secondly, all of the different things utilized by technology that is sending data to the cloud. For example in China there are fifty times more mobile payments, Ten times more food delivery and three hundred more share bicycle rides. The gatekeeping theory arose in 1943, originated by a German American social psychologist named Kurt Lewin. He developed this concept and it focuses on personal perception and how one should operate to better understand the world that they are living in. To do that Lewin would have to understand the mental, physical and social aspects of a person's life. By conversing with people frequently to acknowledge their desires, memories and goals.     In today's time there are a lot of things going on and it’s good to see that throughout history there are a lot of people that strongly encourage pacifism and are proud to say that they are part of an anti-war movement. The media and news stations are not shy about making people aware of the different wars that are happening. Especially in the United States you can make one Google search and you can gain more insight on how currently there are civil wars in countries like Somalia, A fghanistan, Ethiopia, Russia and sadly many more. There are eight values of free expression which is an essential foundation in today's society. These include discovery of the truth, participating in self-government, stable change, self actualization, the ability to check on government power, promoting tolerance, promoting innovation and lastly the ability to protect dissent. All of these theories are included within the first amendment which allows members of the society to have their own opinions but still no violence is strongly persuaded. These are human values, dignity and growth with the protection of all individual rights.  The theory that resonates with me the most is the value of promoting innovation, as it sheds a light on diversity. This value allows everyone a chance to feel confident in their creativity no matter what their background is. What did you learn about the Supreme Court that you didn't already know? One thing that I learned from the Supreme Court Video is that every week the Judicial workers receives over 100 new cases, which comes out to approximately 7,000 a year. Most of them are written arguments to persuade that the lower court ruling was incorrect. That is completely mind blowing to me because I personally feel th at a lot of people are still in situations where they didn’t get a fair chance in court. With this type of number being received weekly and only about 100 of them a year for full consideration. It makes sense why cases overall to this day are so backed up, also due to the fact that even as a team of Justices they do different things.  What is the most important take-away point about the Supreme Court and the most surprising thing you learned? Technology is something that I believe is safe to say, here to stay. Which is not a bad thing but when it comes to our privacy online everyone needs security. The true problem is that not everyone is aware of what is going on and it also seems that the people that know somewhat of the issue with privacy, hackers are getting more creative. It is great to be able to have a web source where you can search anything and there are all types of apps that can help you with something to make life easier. Another problem is the terms and conditions are not understandable and what we search on a web source and put our personal information into is not always private. Some of the issues discussed in the Ted Talk videos have affected me, and some have not. There are simply some apps that I don't trust because I feel my personal information is not going to be safe. 1.  For my first news source I chose is CNN because it covers international and national news twenty four hours a day. Topics such as the weather, entertainment, politics, health, and interviews. CNN is most honored news source that viewers like myself can watch on television or smart phones.
